The final battle against Thomas Grangeon, and while his trap gets thwarted by both soldiers and mercenaries altogether before the detonation, it's quite the risk for Ars to head to Thomas without a plan, only to have him be saved by Rietz and ultimately getting an earful for him for the 2nd time. However, it's not Mireille pulling the strings this time, but Rosell looking through her lens and foreshadowing his plan from the start. This counts as a loss on her end (after being goaded by Ars to tell him her true feelings), and he won't relent on his allegiance to Vasmarque, that's for sure, but he got the acknowledgment from his own sister, which counts as a win.

Semplar, Arcantez, and now Verzud, 2 of the 3 huge cities acquired for Lamberg, the battle may be over for now, but with officially integrating new headmans, and Couran meaning his word to promote him to headmen of Canarre District, which despite the nobles pushing back, the supporters and defectors being the bigger voice of support, and Ars earned his right, even towards Lumiere who has led Canarre up to this point, and reluctant to let go because he grew up in its lands alongside generations, though he surmises that the District would be fine under his leadership.

The return to Canarre, alongside the proposed wedding that has been held back for both Ars and Licia since the start of the war, the former is not only head of a District, but now a certified husband.

Getting a Season 3 this soon? Looks like this series is VERY marketable as a decent Isekai, though it's far from the worst offenders.

It's nice to see how much Ars how grown since his father's death. From being scared after his first battle, to wining wars... AND on top of getting married finally.

Yeah, it's not the best thing ever, but it's far from the worst thing ever. I look forward to season three for sure.

If there's less death I'd like it a lot more, the scene where parents of deceased soldier receive his remain is very sad, and the parents have to suppress their sadness so that they won't ruin the mood of victory is very haunting. But to be clear, this is a good anime and I already looking forward to the next season. It's just me complaining as usual.

Is the marriage happan at Ars's father tombstone? Is this a tradition in Europe?

But the most confuse thing for me is that is the war end yet? I thought they're gonna invade Couran's brother castle.

This is probably the least isekai-like isekai, Ars doesn't mention or take advantage of his previous life knowledge at all.

Lord Couran said it best
"Through the war, I've seen your active involvement and that of Lamberg, witness how you trust your retinues, their trust in you, and how all of you have grown. In Lamberg, I saw the future of Canarre as I envisioned"

Ars has grown much as a lord since his father passed and now he is one step closer to achieving his dream.

The battles has stopped but the war is far from over, Ars greatest trials await him.

@phantomfandom Yeah, absolutely nothing would change to the story if it wasn't an isekai.

I've had to rank this down from an 8 to a 6. It's just an honest assessment. The plot line became very dumb at times and there were some super weak episodes. I still really like the characters, though.

Oh, and I'm a Euro (more exactly, a Swede) and I never heard of anyone getting married in a graveyard.

Many [background] people died, but overall happy anime. We do not know what the future specifically holds for Ars, Vasmarque, et cetera.
I truly feel the pain the Lumiere has, it is very much relatable, however Ars being the replacement is very much helpful in moving forward. Will Ars move up in the world? Or will he just be great for Canarre? My guess is move up as people lateral to him are trash so need to rise up and make more impact.
Very emotional while somewhat simple <3

The final episode was great, showcasing nearly all the strengths of the show. Overall, I enjoyed this second season.

That said, I did have some complaints. For much of the season (up until the last couple of episodes), Ars didn’t show much personal growth, which was disappointing. However, this was somewhat balanced by other characters experiencing moments of development throughout the season.

Overall, I enjoyed the second season. With the third season already announced, I hope they shift focus away from clunky war tactics and instead lean into the personal and emotional aspects of the characters, which are the show’s real strength.

That said, some moments were outright laughable, like the scene where hundreds of soldiers magically ambush Thomas Grangeon’s men by suddenly appearing on their side. It felt absurd and unrealistic, but it’s the kind of thing you just have to roll with in this show.

Hopefully, the next season improves on these elements and gives us a more cohesive experience.

I’ve grown tired of his exaggerated shrieking and “eeehhhhHHHHHH???” yells, and he has an absolutely lunatic moment with the loudest one at probably the worst time. I really wish they didn’t make him into a complete clown half the time. Still a decent watch overall despite feeling rushed and choppy. 6.5/10

Wow! What a perfect ending to cap off a fantastic season. They nailed it this time. Ending with a wedding celebration for Ars and Licia was the highlight! It was a bittersweet conclusion filled with emotions, but thankfully, it was mostly happy. I can't wait to see what else they have in store for season 3, but for now, we’re just grateful as viewers. Thank you for getting it right!

OH MY GOD WE GOT THE WEDDING AND IT’S PERFECT?!!?!?! Y’all don’t know how much that last 3 minutes meant to me oh my goodness that was so beautiful. I wish Ars dad could’ve been there to see his wedding 😭 perfect finale for season 2 and we’re getting a third season??!! I wonder if that was in response to LN sales or if it was always planned as 3 cour. It’s so rare for a new show to get renewed this many times, Honzuki is like the other LN series I can think of that had that.

Great finale though. Thomas went down a lot easier than I expected, but honestly after getting his backstory last week it makes sense. His issue was always his feelings of insecurity and inferiority towards his big sister. Even though he lost thanks to a Rosell masterclass, he finally got the acknowledgement from Mireille he always wanted. I don’t see him being able to be used against Vasmarque because of that loyalty he has for him, but not having Thomas will weaken Vasmarque substantially in this next campaign!

Ars gets a new domain! The fact there’s still nobles who question Ars’ merit is hilarious. “Oh he just has strong retainers” no shit why do you think all these talented people want to serve him you idiot. And even if he did only have strong retainers, that’s not an issue lol. It’s gonna be fun seeing him develop Canarre over the next cour!

The scene of Ars returning and meeting the family of the fallen was fucking beautiful too. The letters he wrote and just knowing he cares about their children beyond their usefulness on a battlefield was lovely

And then of course the wedding to wrap it up. This was even better than season 1 to me, the war, the stakes, the action and tactical games ending on a wedding! Zero complaints and I can not wait for more of this! One of the best shows this year.

Literally just getting married in their backyard as people still do if they have the estate for it. Obviously, it’s not some obscure European tradition.

It's still very good, but honestly, why is this considered an isekai? The reincarnation was mentioned once in the first season, and that was it. This could genuinely be a fantasy series, and nothing would change.

Anyway, the third season is coming soon, and I never expected this to even get a second season, so that's pretty cool. I hope we get some sorta time skip so that Ars can have better combat capabilities.

The exchange between Thomas and his sister Mireille went better than I would've thought but that was thanks to Mireille acknowledging Rosell being the one to see through his plans (and an assist from Ars for Mireille to say how she really feels). Also, I liked how the inner politics are shown such as Lumeire not really being happy with his promotion since he wanted to keep leading Canarre but trusting Ars to do a good job in his stead. Lastly, the wedding was a great and pleasant surprise which was requested by Licia's father and Licia looked great in her wedding dress:

I liked Season 2 a bit more than Season 1 despite the animation and production values taking a hit during the battle scenes since the progression of the storyline and character developments were great. With Season 3 immediately announced I look forward to seeing both Ars' growth and many of the other characters too, and also watching the continuation of the war play out.

Rosell came through yet again, the trust Ars has with everyone was the key to this victory.
We got a good moment with Thomas & Mireille, hopefully he joins them eventually.
Perfect ending with the wedding scene.

Enjoyed both season, really looking forward to the 3rd, there is still a war to win for Courran.

When we consider how Ars started compared to where he is now, it’s amazing to see how much he’s grown both literally and figuratively.

I do hope that thing I read that Season 3 was confirmed is true; although the story arc ended on a satisfying note, there’s clearly a big confrontation coming up and I look forward to seeing it be revealed.

Not going to lie, completely expected Thomas to die in battle, but this ending was just as satisfying.

It is unfortunate that Lysia had to sit out most of the season (apart from about the first third or so) but hopefully if the story ever goes beyond the civil war we will see more of her instead of just “sitting on the sidelines”

Overall, as an Isekai fan, very happy with this one and definitely one of the stronger Isekai titles. Again, sure hope that season 3 news is true, really want to see the story continue

Everything from the meeting beteeen Lumeire and Ars and their conversation avout the future of the Canarre District to the surprise Wedding at the end was executed beautifully!! Especially Ars returning home and being reunited with Licia! They really made sure that the impact of these moments were felt by us watching! Haven't seen a season finale this good in a while, much less from an underrated anime like this one! So glad it's getting a 3rd season, it really deserves it!!

I feel like this show is very one note. There’s absolutely NO need for it to be an isekai. The only thing it being an isekai changes is the fact that it’s creepy that he’s married to a child. Throughout 2 seasons he doesn’t have a shred of adversity, so every episode feels the same. I would have rated this lower, but the characters (excluding Ars) are fairly entertaining/ somewhat compelling – even if they’re generic. 5/10 for me.

@phantomfandom less death would be bad. There has to be some stakes in it otherwise they are portraying war poorly. There has to be death. Its war. Cmon, you have to have expectations for that. Theres no confusion, they only control 2 of the 3 territories. Vasmarque still retains control of the last third of that continent. Season 2 was just battling for control of verzud and its surrounding cities. Imagine there are 3 capitals. Semplar was one of them and now verzud. The third one is still in control by vasmarque

An excellent final episode! Thanks to Rosell, the tide of battle turned against Thomas—this kid could surpass Mireille as a strategist someday. Sadly, Thomas chose not to switch sides, but he got what he truly wanted: his sister’s respect. Although, I can’t deny it felt odd that he wasn’t more affected by being outsmarted by a child like Rosell.

Ars’ promotion to ruler of Canarre was well-deserved. It’s baffling how those other rulers previously opposed his ascension when they don’t even fight on the battlefield. Ars has shown incredible growth—not in physical strength or intellectual brilliance, but in his talent for forging relationships and rallying capable companions to his cause. He’s become a remarkable leader. To think he used to vomit at the sight of death, and now he was ready to face Thomas head-on without hesitation.

And to make this finale even better, we got Ars and Licia’s wedding! Plus, the announcement of a third season—a fantastic surprise. This anime may not have seemed unique at first, but it has steadily grown on me, and I’m thrilled to see more of it in the future.

Marriage at the end of S2?! Definitely a worthwhile series.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

This was a great season!!!
And a very good ending!!!
At first I didn´t like Licia so much but she grew on me, she makes perfect couple with Ars! Their wedding was so beautiful. Happy that Charlotte was happy about it and didn´t react against it.
Just curious with who Charlotte will end up... maybe Rietz? Even tough they argue all the time, I hope that will happen! It will be nice to have other romance, but not sure if it will develop in the future.
Or maybe she will travel around the world, as she wanted...
My only complain about this episode is that I wanted to see Ars having a battle with Thomas. Oh well.
He is still a great leader.
I must say, I love the evolution all the characters had.
Pham is one of my favorite characters as well, I can´t wait to see more about him in the next season.

@lucio54
but is it an isekai? i for myself decided, that i will only call anime an isekai if the "isekai"-plot is relevant for the story.

in this one we know that ars got reincarnated, but thats it.

absolutly nothing would change if he wouldnt be a reincarnation. so for me this is no isekai and its just strapped on, to jump on the "hype-train"
