I see. That's quite interesting since I'm reading the manga and I find it to be good. Hope they can deliver with the anime.

Why such an odd number of episodes? I'm assuming there's a specific spot they want to end at?

But still, that means there's gonna be like 4 or 5 weeks with no episode. The only other 20 episode series I can even think of off the top of my head is Nisekoi.

I am proud that it is getting more than 12 episodes, but more than 20 would've been nice.
Let's hope for a second season as well!

To be honest im a little bit worried about this anime because it's being done by brain's base. Don't get me wrong brains base is a great studio with great works like natsume but the studio is known to have a reputation of not giving shows second seasons like Madhouse but you never know they might continue with it . Nevertheless I think they will handle the adaptation of the 1st season pretty well so yeah let's see how this turns out. Can't wait for october

Well, Hyouka too had 22 Episodes, and it's pretty good that they decided to go with 20 episodes. It would provide great Ending spot, and also this way, pacing issues don't get in the way too

Yeah, you do you have a point, Natsume Yuujinchou is the only show I can think atm which received sequel by Brain's Base, durarara ( though it got later by shuka which came out of Brain's Base ), OreGairu both had different studios for sequels, my little monster never received one.

But for sure this first season is gonna be great, they have a good reputation, and don't massacre Source material like Pierrot. If S1 does well ( I'm sure it would ), we might eventually get S2 at some point too

6 seasons of which first four were done by Brain's Base, S5 and S6 were done by Shuka

Shuka is a subdivision of Brain's Base (like Production I.G. and Wit Studio), that's basically the same thing
